Over the years quite a few clients have asked me if there was a way to view the Microsoft 365 roadmap in a more chronological manner, with more concise sorting and filtering.
The primary need for this was to understand what is happening and when by specific months or periods of the year, in case of impact to training schedules, deployments, or other non-Microsoft programmes of work.
For example, in March this year the new Microsoft Teams desktop client was forcefully thrust upon organisations. While there was ample notice for this, some organisations were in the middle of rolling out Microsoft Teams as it was – so now they would need to change their training approach.
To assist with this, I’ve built a visual version of the Microsoft 365 roadmap which includes more filters and options, as well as key statistics.
I’ve also made an attempt to streamline the text to make things more cohesive between products. Within the report itself are explanations of what manipulations I’ve made to the roadmap items.
You can access this now by browsing to https://www.m365roadmap.com.
Additionally, you can download the Power BI template file from my GitHub repository and customise it for yourself.
